Pope Francis calls for generosity for victims of war in Ukraine

Pope Francis has called for all Catholic churches in Europe to take up a special collection on Sunday, April 24 to fund humanitarian relief in Ukraine. See http://www.cruxnow.com/church/2016/04/03/pope-announces-april-24-collection-for-ukraine/

Pope Francis has spoken on several occasions on the on-going violence in Ukraine, asking for prayers for peace. The April 24 special collection is in support of the victims of the conflict. His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav has invited the Ukrainian Catholic churches in North America to join in the Pope's call for a special collection. Please forward the collections, by May 31, to the Chancery, who will forward the entire eparchial collection to His Beatitude.

May the Risen Lord bring about peace in Ukraine and in all places of conflict and war.
