To maintain our Ukrainian Christmas tradition of a diduch, the St. Nicholas UCWLC invites all St. Nicholas Parish families to make a simple diduch for their family.

Sunday, November 12, 2017, following the parish breakfast.

A diduch is the sheaf of wheat that the head of the family brings in just before the Christmas Eve supper, places it usually by the Icon of the Mother of God and wishes the family Christ's blessing during this holy event.

Symbolism of the Diduch: Wheat is used to make bread.  We receive Christ in Holy Communion under the appearance of bread.  Bethlehem means <>.  Jesus is the Bread of Life.
